Celebrating the Body Erotic

Conducted throughout the US and Canada, dates and locations are listed at end of this page.

A first step with Body Electric. Come explore your erotic potential through the mind, the body and the heart using conscious breath, movement, process work and massage. When men take responsibility for their erotic education, they realize how much there is to learn about awakening the erotic energy that lies within all of us. They begin to realize the satisfaction that comes from learning how to both give and receive pleasure through erotic touch. The workshop focuses on the entire body and is conducted in a setting that is playful, safe and honoring. A few benefits of this work are:

  • The participant gains greater acceptance of himself as an erotic being, both physically and mentally.
  • He discovers ways to develop a more satisfying erotic relationship with others.
  • He becomes more aware of spiritual dimensions in his erotic explorations.

Celebrating the Body Erotic is a full two-day (one evening and two days at residential locations), often clothes-off workshop (9am-7pm) for those who are ready to vigorously explore new levels of feeling, both within themselves and within a community of men.

Completion of CBE is a prerequisite for attending most intensives, advanced workshops and retreats offered by Body Electric.

Celebrating the Body Erotic for Men is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 24.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from First step to discover my potential I am glad to have taken this workshop in 2013. I felt like a new person and it kickstarted a new path in my life where I have discovered to be connected more to my body along with nature and other men.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Celebrating the Body Erotic I had heard about Body Electric form a friend and I had found a bar card promoting the workshop. When I first visited the website I was intrigued but it also made me nervous. The thought of being nude in front of a group of men was intimidating, and I was nervous about attending and seeing someone that I knew. Fast forward a couple of years later and I came across the bar card again and I knew the time was right. I was nervous but I knew I wanted to attend. My driving force to attend was curiosity but also that I am Gay but did not trust men, and two I am a massage therapist but did not like being touched. All I can is WOW. I had no idea how much I was going to gain from the workshop. The school did an amazing job creating a safe place and presenting the work. In such a short weekend I learned so much about myself, pleasure, connecting with other men and that I was not alone. There were so many men at the workshop that I could relate to on an intimate level and the techniques they taught us really opened me up to new levels of pleasure that I did not know existed. I left the weekend with some wonderful new friends, a better understanding of myself and pleasure.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from CBE in Minneapolis I had the pleasure of participating in a CBE class here in Minneapolis about 12 years ago. The experience really helped to put me in a mindset to respect and love men of all shapes and sizes, to love in the moment, and to appreciate intimate touch. I was just entering my 30s then, so this was a fantastic stepping stone for my growth as a gay man. Now that I'm in my 40s I look back and see how much better my life has been having the CBE experience and the emotional maturity it helped me to build. I hope that someday was can bring Body Electric back to Minneapolis.

How do I sign up and pay for a class (e.g., Poconos Aug 21/23, 2015)? I can't seem to find it on the website.

Asked by: gbarvi
For all introductory workshops, we ask prospective participants to contact the coordinator (see here for more information: http://www.thebodyelectricschool.com/mens-introductory/celebrating-the-body-erotic-men/). For this particular workshop, please contact Nick, the Philadelphia Coordinator at philadelphia@b-e-school.com or 215-844-6537.

1.  I am gay and am wondering if there are special gay classes.  2.  Do the classes fill up? 3.  How soon do I need to register for the Aug 21-23, 2015 session in the Poconos?

Asked by: gbarvi
Thanks for your questions. First of all, the majority of men who come to our workshops are gay, but they don't have to be and we never ask. In fact, there is a growing percentage of heterosexual men coming to the introductory workshops often sent by their wives or simply out of curiosity and we are happy to see them. Sometimes workshops do fill up, so it's best to secure a place as soon as you are committed to coming. In those locations where registration is lacking, we will sometimes be forced to make a decision to cancel because without sufficient numbers, the quality would be lacking to say nothing of covering costs. So early registrations help us to gauge whether a workshop will fly or not. If you register for the Poconos program at least four weeks in advance, you will get an early registration discount. So we encourage you to register as soon as possible. We look forward to welcoming you to Body Electric soon!

What is the extent of the physical contact in this workshop?

Asked by: justin21
The workshops are a hands-on experience to learn technique. This is done after creating an atmosphere of trust. We teach a variety of massage techniques. Hands will be on one's body, but with guidance and respectful touch. Therefore one must be comfortable being touched and giving touch. At the same time, nothing is forced and workshops never devolve into something less. Should you have any further questions, I suggest reaching out to the local coordinator who will be happy to assist you.

Will this workshop help me uncover what my sexual orientation is? Am I gay or bi?  Am I really straight but doing some of the things that I do as a result of past experiences?

Asked by: George
Thank you for your question. One's sexual orientation is something that one discovers over time. And for some, this might change with new experiences. So it is possible that the workshop would give you more information to help determine your orientation and interests, but that it is neither the goal of our work nor our mission. We are there for people to explore the full potential of their erotic spirit. What comes from that is up to them.

how is this different from Tantra 1 for Men

Asked by: Alexternal
The two workshops are completely different. Celebrating the Body Erotic is a carefully orchestrated experiential weekend that introduces one to erotic potential addressing body image and how we can leverage our potential to live richer and fuller lives. It incorporates breath, meditation, and instruction on a multitude of hands-on techniques. The tantra we teach has some similarity, but focuses on identifying aspects of the masculine and feminine, the ying and the yang constructing experiments to strengthen our areas of weakness and discovering that which has the potential of enriching our lives The two are different and both offer valuable lessons on the path to self-discovery.
